And last night too, could be a football score. But wrong outcome again. Twins are 3-7 the last 10. Not a good sign for the second half of the season.
Not to mention their 11 game lead at one point is now down to just 2 games. I hate being a MN sports fan!!

They mashed tonight in Chicago. Im' going to another game on Sunday at the cell.

10-3 on top of the Sox. 3hrs from Nelson Cruz, 1 from Kepler, and 1 from Sano.

Fun stats:
* Twins are the first major league team with (9) games with 5 home runs in one season.

* Miguel Sano's hit 16 HR's in 187 at bats. He started out the season injured after an injury in what, a parade(?) If stats were applied to 162 games and he averaged 3.5 at bats, he'd project to hit 49 home runs. He's feast or famine....still swings at stuff he shouldn't, but when he connects it's purdy

* I hope the Twins pick up the second year option on Cruz.

Now back to your regularly scheduled talks about Dodgers and Giants.

Just heard, they couldn't announce it while Puig was still on the field. Especially since there was a brawl on the field and he's a hothead anyway. I know the Padres dumped salary, but it still sounds like they came up short.

No idea.

Only team I’m watching now in trade talks is the Gmen.
16 or so hours to go.

A team that was 12 under in early June and is now barely over after a hell of a run.

Clubhouse doesn’t want anyone traded. But hell, front office has to consider everything.

Glad I don’t have to try and figure that shit out.

15 minutes left. Giants shipped of a couple relievers (Black and Pomeranz) to Brewers for a top 5 prospect, Maurico Dubon.

Wow, and they dumped Melancon and his albatros contract on the Braves and get a prospect reliever and some other MLB pitcher I've never heard of.
Melancon has been a disaster since they signed him for 62 million some years back. But his curve has been really good lately and he struck out the side some nights back.

I'm with the talking heads, they did pretty well.

But it was funny that Bauer had just got his fine for hot-headedness the day he was traded for Puig. That was the most pissed I think I'd ever seen Francona during a game.

I watched that replay several times!

I wonder if the Reds "made" the Indians take Puig. That dude...

That deal was mostly about Reyes for the Indians. The gmen-like run they've had recently has been against AL Central opponents. The next few weeks that flips for them and it's iffy if they'll hang in for a wildcard. They made this run mostly without Kluber and Clevinger so it's not like Bauer would have made a huge difference now that Clevinger's back and Kluber is throwing pen sessions.

If Puig can even sustain his falling off the cliff at age 28 numbers from this year it's better than most Tribe outfielders have been contributing so even if it was about moving hot heads two months of Puig isn't going to hurt and might help.

So yeah, a couple more bats for the end of season run, and a couple players under control for five years for Bauer who's only been good not great and would be gone at the end of next year anyway isn't bad.

Astos scored big. The Greinke deal may have put them over the top.

Jeff Luhnow has scored big at the deadline, again.

The Angels took 4 of 6 against the Astros and Dodgers (two best teams).... Then dropped 5 of 7 to Baltimore and Detroit (two worst teams). This has and will sum up their season. It's long over. They literally don't even have a starting rotation.

I love watching vintage baseball games. This one is the 1952 World Series game 7 between the Dodgers (Brooklyn) and Yankees. It is like a hall of Fame game with Mickey Mantle, Jackie Robinson, yogi, Peewee Reese, Duke Snyder among others and the Yanks managed by Casey Stengel.

I watched the entire game by the way. I had no idea who won so it was interesting. That 20 year old Mickey Mantle kid looks like he might be a good one some day.

Holy shit you don't see that every day. How can an MLB player miss that so badly. I am quite sure he will get quite a ribbing in the dressing room.

Video post fail. I am just picturing every single player on their roster getting hurt simultaneously though. :'(
