License plate LED w CooperDawg tail tidy

So I have the CD tail tidy and now want to add a license plate light. Was pulled over recently in my car when the bulb was blown, always figured having a license plate light was more an inspection issue than a getting-pulled-over issue since the plate is reflective.

So what are you guys using?
Option 1
Looked at lite-n-bolts which are bolts with led lights that hold the plate on but I don’t want to see the wires along the carbon fiber hanger.

Option 2
So now I am thinking about a flush mount bulb mounted inside the tail (under the seat, pointing straight down). This would require a hole.

What are you guys using?

you don't need to drill a hole. there is already a hole to run a power wire. I just bought a 3led strip with double sided tape and put it above the plate. And you just tap into the existing power wire from the oem light.

But yes cops can pull you over for not having a plate light.

I can take pics of mine later.

The two options I've found most 'acceptable' online have been either from TST Industries, and Graves.

The Graves unit looks the nicest IMO, but the price is laughable.

TST is ~ $13 or so, and I just ordered one last night...

Agreed, that looks great. If there's room under the tail for a solution like yours....I like it.

Thoughts

I like the idea of the LED strip attached to the underside but my plate sticks out too far. Looks like the only thing I can do is use the TST led and mount to the plate.

You can still do the same thing. Just put the strip under the tail light.

But probably the cleanest thing for you would to get illuminated license plate bolts.
