This was my first trackday. I was working mostly on body position, based on what I've read in the body position thread (I'll cross-post some of this and my feedback there) and what the track instructors were saying and trying to teach.

The most interesting thing is that in both of the pictures with other riders above, I was either about to pass or had just passed them, but as you see my lean angle is less. I need to work on the outside leg and trusting my tires more.

I learned a lot and had a very good day.

Were you wore out? Edit: Also keep in mind -- you're a big guy and you don't have to be as far off the bike for the bike to feel it like a little guy does. The purpose of being off the bike is so you can keep the bike in a more vertical position.

Yes. My whole body was sore and after sitting for a few minutes waiting for the shower, I got pretty stiff. Was also very tired on the drive home - that might have been the most dangerous part of the trip. I feel fine today, though, so not too serious.

Yea, I usually get home and crash. If that's my only crash of the day then I'm pretty happy.

Grommet I think your should position is great and as you get more comfortable with getting your body off I think the rest will fall in. I've been battling BP for most of last season. My hips were leading with my shoulders lagging behind, aka crossed up. If you stay on track with your shoulders leading you will do well.

Joe thanks, I should throw up some pics of my progression. If I can improve anyone can.

I'll play.
These are from Mid-Ohio. I was there last 10/1/12.

Talking

Trackday at Eagles Canyon a few months ago. Great time on the bike... loved it even though the track is average, at best.

One of the greatest tracks out there... Sears Point (yep, I still call it that), and turn 10 is one you can really hammer.

And why not... a wheelie pic too!

Nice, I enjoyed my one trackday at ECR. It's no Mid Ohio, but we do have lots of options in the DFW area, and options are good!

My one and only track day was at Eagles Canyon, it was in my old Civic Si though It was a blast! If it wasn't for the fact that at the time the Civic was my only ride I probably would have done several more track days. Now that I have the FZ I may have to find some leathers and head back up there.

Oh, the Si was a hoot! It was fun catching much more powerful cars in the corners, not so fun when those long straights would come up and they would just power off into the distance.

One problem... It was my first track day anywhere, and I cooked the brakes and rotors. I had no spares with me so was forced to find a tire/brake shop late on a Saturday afternoon before I could make the 3 hour drive back home. That was an expensive lesson. Still the most fun I have ever had in a car though.
