BMW R1200RS

Wow Larry. Impressive machine. I did sit on one at the IMS.
I figured I'd make a thread dedicated to it instead of clogging up the Austrian thread.

Congratulations. Of all of them, it's probably my favorite.

Heck, yeah!

With my middle age flatulence, bald head, and creased face, I can't keep young women off of me!

Speaking of which ...

A few weeks back, there were a couple of girls in a car checking out my fancy bike and I guess me as well in heavy traffic. All I could think, was, If I take this helmet off, you girls are going to run screaming!

That's hilarious as the exact same thing happened to me. I'm in a college town so there are many coeds here.

Sort of reminds me of the Caveman commercials for which insurance co I forgot.

I also look awesome covered in a full face helmet. Chicks dig bikes that vibrate.

I wonder if Mrs. Murph gets as much gold as his Duc does ?? Hope so.

I'm going to rearrange your nose.

Speaking of which ... The last bar fight I was in was 4 years ago. Broke my elbow, concussion, probably did break my nose but it was already hard to tell LOL. The other guy was coughing up blood from a bruised/cracked sternum and he broke his hand on my face when a swarm of cops showed up. Good times!

But better times are ... I'm over 3 years sober now, and my nose is starting to look super cute and adorable again!

Thank you Jesus!

Wow hotboot congratulations I don't think you could have picked a better all around motorcycle, those are superb machines and if I could afford one now i'd surely...shoulda, woulda coulda lol. Before I retire hopefully...they have a pretty good website for new R1200rs owners but sure does seem to be a lot of complaining per capita, I don't get it though, the one I test rode the whole experience was just on a level of it's own. Is it pretty much a perfect fit for you so far? Like other RS bikes over the years this one seems to be adjustable for seat height as well as windscreen, for me, 5'11" and 175 lbs. without shoes the fit was perfect..

If you don't complain, you're obviously new money.

I'm tellin' ya. If you got to use the shift pro and DTC options for any amount of miles it is superb. Easy to ride fast and I don't know why, the specs are real close to others I've tried but it just works better, must be the dynamic suspension and chassis. I'm 10-15 mph faster in my familiar corners with nary a scary moment. The motor punches way above it's rating because of the way it makes power, your gyro's are now the long way and the weight is very low. I'm 6' and the standard seat / screen combo is near perfect, I like the reach to the bars and riding position, the saddle composition is the best so far. I wanted a boxer, check that box.

You can get a base model for 14K if you look around, I did quite a bit better than the 20K msrp this one has and they gave crazy money for my FJ in trade. I have Honda stickers to cover the BMW badging because I'm tired of hearing the big money BS, add these features to a lesser bike while including your time and it's an integrated best buy.
Boot the Boxer Fanboy is good for now.
