A buddy of mine hit a crow while going in the triple digits, it's beak penetrated his leathers and stabbed him in the chest. I had a similar situation, but was able to duck, crow hit my helmet, rang my bell a little!

Then there was the damn yellowjacket that got down the front of my riding outfit - was beating on my chest like Tarzan

Yes, pretty funny actually.

2nd bird ive hit on 166. First one was years back, a crow, right in the faceshield.

Damn near knocked me off my 1050S3.

Compared to the crow, or the deer- this was a "light" impact.

HOLY SHIT I HAD FORGOTTEN.

PTSD all over again.

I too had a wasp fly down the front of my leather jacket (i had felt something sharp hit my neck right above the neckline 10min earlier). Went into one of the last corners on the road (166... again), a wide left sweeper to sharp right switchback, and as I changed body position... something stabbed me in the ribs, right under my chest plate. And kept stabbing. Then rolled down my side... and kept stinging.

By now Ive got my jacket unzipped and flapping, Im convinced ive been bitten by a black widow or worse... and the rest of the group riding behind me is like "WTF is Bryan doing up there."

That sucked. Thanks for the memories. ; )

Glad to be of assistance in messing up your day! I got lucky - managed to crush that stinging little bastard against my sternum before it could migrate and continue stinging me elsewhere.

Last time I was out on the dirt bike, it was early in the morning, damn wild turkey ran out right in front of me. Naturally I fed it the beans, cranked a wheelie, figuring I would use him for traction if it came to that. Missed him somehow, pretty sure he passed under my elevated front wheel and before the rear wheel, right under my skidplate.

Always looking out for the wildlife out there.

At least a half dozen times, I have come VERY close to hitting wild turkeys. They will run right in front of you. Not the brightest of birds.

Never caught a bird in the helmet (a few close calls), but had a couple hit the bike. Now bees - that’s a different story. Been stung numerous times while riding. Always a shock when they first get you. One got me through the mesh jacket earlier this year.

A riding buddy of mine hit a turkey buzzard here in Virginia one year. Shattered the windscreen on his Buell S3 and hit his helmet. He had to throw the helmet out because it stank so bad from the bird strike. Turkey buzzards are muy gross.
