oh, and of course, let's not forget about DVDShrink..... a very popular utility for making copies of your favorite DVD's (which you already own, of course).

http://www.dvdshrink.org/

and a guide on how to use it.

This hosts file helps keep some of the ads from showing up while browsing the web. It's simple to install on windows and linux.

Does anyone have a free address booklet printing application? I am looking for a booklet size that will fit in a shirt pocket.

yo, desmo....... if you're ever looking for an alternative to avg antivirus, check out avast!

http://www.avast.com/

its free as well, and its dang cool to boot. even scans your email (which i don't believe avg does). and it has numerous skins you can download to spice it up a bit in the looks department. i currently have the "matrix" skin, and it is pretty sweet.

check it out.

Actually AVG does scan incoming email on Outlook and Outlook Express. That was one of the reasons I used it.
As to skins, well, I dunno what the point is of that. AVG sits quietly in the lower corner. I never have to deal with it.

Oh yah, since I now use Gmail I don't worry about a virus scanner for email. All mail is scanned on the
server side at GMail, so no virus ever makes it to my drive.
