Hwy 178 SC into NC.

This is supposed to be one of the best roads around here.

I've not been that far east, but does remind me of the lower section of 28, which also goes down into SC. That 178 North, then 64 West, get's you to Cashiers, then over to Highlands. Mountain Fresh Grocery for excellent food and heavenly desserts. Several waterfalls if you continue north out of Highlands towards Franklin. Awesome French restaurant in Franklin, Cafe Rel. Then continue north on 28, which is absolutely the best part. Just keep going till you get to Deals Gap, then.....well, you know.

Looks fun. I'll have to remember that road on my next mini tour to see my Dad in Abbeville 178 passes close, but its pretty straight by him.

I have friends in Franklin. My wife and I took the GoldWing up on one of the earlier warmer spring days. That's when I decided these roads required a nimble bike that is quick to extract maximum fun. I can see why people think the FZ-07 is great for these rods too.

I said damned! That road reminds me a lot of some of the stuff I rode in the Italian Dolomites. You get a work out doing that kind of riding all day. Nice video!

Loosenut, as John has pointed out you've made it to the promised land. Now just remember, there's nothing but meth heads, pot holes, and dried out expensive BBQ in these parts.

What section of 178 are you referring to?
I may take a detour to Fontana Dam on June 5th.

It’s not that long of a section from Pickens, SC to Rosman, NC. I jump on just as it gets curvy from Cleo Chapman Hwy. Keep going north from there for great roads.

28 south from Highlands to Warwoman Road and then Warwoman to Clayton, GA is a nice ride (in either direction).

As long as you know where the decreasing radius spots are on 28 N bound.

My wife and I are probably in our current house for the next 8-10 years but we’re always watching the offerings and I saw this in a prime spot for that stretch.

Very odd looking house ... has no charm or architectural appeal .. looks like a rental apartment building IMHO

Miss all those great roads. Lived in SC from 04 to 14. Hwy 276 thru Caesars Head is another fun ride.

I'm not crazy about vinyl siding (if that's what it is), but otherwise it doesn't bother me.

Are they marked in any way. I’ve seen warnings spray painted on the pavement before.

Not that I've noticed, they're both blind right hand curves if I recall correctly. One of them is preceded by an uphill left, then immediately bank into a right, then a quick small straight to get up a little speed, and then you're going in hot into the blind decreasing right (easy to do with a little enthusiasm).

There'a also a series of corners on Warwoman Rd in that stretch that gets people headed East. A blind left into a downhill where you immediately go into a level right pushing the front tire from the steep downhill followed by a second right that's just a hair too far away to make a single apex corner. I've seen multiple riders go wide on the second right because they're already pretty committed.

That whole area of one of my favorites. A lot of people normally like to take the Skyway over to Deal's Gap but I usually go up 28 all the way into Fontana.

60 from Suches to Morganton is my favorite stretch of road anywhere, but don't tell anybody.
