We are set up for it. A cold snap is a minor annoyance but in places that generally don't get very cold it is awful. Like snow for example, we are getting 40 cm Thursday which will probably close schools but it isn't a big deal. Drop 40 cm of snow on Atlanta and it would be a disaster.

Sitting in the beer garden right now. It's 57. So they turned on all the heat lamps. And she's wearing a parka.

I don't know how you fvckers can possibly live in that weather.

I went for a long walk in the woods on New Years day and it was - 15 C. The sun was bright on the snow and it was so beautiful I felt sorry for you warmies.

It hit zero ambient Sunday night, and will be in the negatives and a high of 10 this weekend. Should make for a cozy day on the slopes.

Did an 8 mile round trip hike up McAfee Knob on New Years day, left at 5:30 am. Air temp at the summit was -2, add in wind-chill and it felt around -20. Heading out Thursday to hike to some frozen waterfalls.

Well, no bed of roses here, either! It was only 68 degrees here, this afternoon!

Took the new to me 2001 FZ1 for a short ride, to see what needs to be addressed. Softened the suspension a bit, installed a battery tender pig tail quick release, put on my new black half tank bra, checked the drive chain adjustment, check tire pressures, etc., etc. Slowly but surely, it will all get done to my satisfaction.

Dean

P.S. Sorry you east coast folks, are freezing your as*es off. Could never live in place that gets that cold. Just a central California sissy, i guess! lol!

We had -12 here this morning, it was our first day back to work after 10 days off, two vans a fork truck, a tractor and a truck wouldn't start!
So I had two guys just spend half the day getting batteries charged and vehicles running.

Got the Warrior registered today and wanted to take it for a spin to really check it out. I got all bundled up but probably lasted 2 miles total. It was in the teens/low 20's today with some ice patches. Too cold for me...

Good to hear I am not alone.
Spent 4 hours getting vehicles and equipment running this morning. Several needed 911 emergency fluid added to diesel tanks. My personal truck didnt want to start. Unusual for Tennessee really. Somebody bring the sun closer so I can have some warmth?

The sun is closer in winter in the northern hemisphere.

In DFW it was low 20's today. Nights have been in the teens. Anchorage, Alaska was 47 degrees today.

Tomorrow a heat wave is coming in and should be around mid 40's.
