Question Flashing Brake light mod... How to??

I have a totally stock 07 Gen 2 and have seen some bikes on the road, mainly touring type bikes, that have a flashing brake light when they stop. Have any of you done this mod? Is there something plug and play that we can do with our stock brake light to get it to do that?

I'd like to keep the look of my bike stock and make this electronic mod. I think it would be a good safety modification to make us more visible. Has anyone done this?

Although if not using LED bulbs it wont be as noticeable. Adding one of these will help make you more visible. Everyone who rides behind me cant believe how well it works. for the price

Thanks for the reply. That is switching out the whole tail light. I'm looking for a way to do it with the stock light/housing.

Then use the module provided in my first link and swap in an LED bulb.

There are several brake light flashing modules out there that splice right in, that vary in price.

Add this light stripe to your license plate bracket. You'll have the best of both worlds.

This works with the standard lamps.

Why are you against replacing the light assembly? The intagrated light is only $80, and gives you much much better visibility. It is plug and play so no need to fiddle with your wiring harness. And is programmable.

A flasher on a standard halogen isn’t nearly as attention getting.

I have a clear alternatives led brake light. Great quality. I thought about adding a brake light strobe, but I've just made a habit of manually strobing the brake light when slowing. Give the front brake just enough of a squeeze that you hear the brake switch click. I usually strobe the brake 5 times or so, and keep an eye on my mirror, ready to take evasive action if need be.

Make a habit of this and you won't even notice you're doing it. Just my 2 c.

I just like the stock look. I always have, that's all. That's why I was trying to get something to work within the original housing.

I've used these as a cheap alternative on my bikes. They have lasted for years, but you do have to tie into existing wires. https://www.amazon.com/Street-104190...ods+LED+Lights

Though I have a Gen 1 FZ, years ago I installed a brake light flashing module called BackOff. It wired into the harness within the tail assembly and doesn't require any alteration of the brake/tail lights at all. It works fine without any problems flashing in a pattern every time the brakes are applied.

I'll take a look and see if I can find that.
