I'll miss you all.

My work stress just went up to 11 today, when I thought it couldn't go any higher.

When I came back to Yuma, Az from my ride in Montana last September, heading down the I-15, you couldn't see the Tetons. Heck, I couldn't even do my bucket list ride on Going To The Sun in Glacier, and had smoldering embers 40 feet away from the road on the west side of Yellowstone. I don't think most of America knew exactly how much of the west was on fire. The mountain bowl south of Provo was ablaze and Monument Valley was a smoke show. Hope it isn't that bad this year, those are some epic photos.

I ride with an uncle, and also an old friend, and some spirit of my still living but frequently errant father, and I take photos using the eyes of all who appreciate them, but sometimes I also have a rabbit, a coyote, and a few other spirit animals along.

The bear cub story is quite sad. Not so much for the abandonment, that's nature, but for the location that sees the cub exposed to the dangers of the road.

I really should get off my backside and go out to take some photos. Clear blue skies at the moment and temps that mean wearing shorts is nice and comfortable. A perfect Queensland winter.

Some Americana pictures from our local big event, the Sheridan WYO Rodeo. Half of the town shuts down all day, the other half for half the day. We got choice seats!

Likewise. Landscapes are solitary and evoke peaceful thought, animals are us and we them, those colorful people just put an exclamation point on life.

gracias, chica hermosa. muy bueno.

I was no longer happy with the image quality of the Canon 28-135 mm lens I'd been using for the last decade. I started to sometimes notice areas of soft focus in landscape images, right about when I switched from the 50D camera to the 7D.

So, got rid of the 28-135 and the 50D, and picked up a used Canon 24-105 mm 4L. It seems to be a highly regarded lens by many Canon users (with more talent than me). A bit more weight (compared to previous lens), but seems to work OK.
