Engine searching

I have a 2012 FZ1 that has what sounds like a searching issue. At idle the engine tends to bounce a bit and "searching" for a stable RPM to run at. The issue seems to be a little better if I put the stock can back on but with teh 2 brothers exhaust it is definitely more pronounced. There is no cat on the bike and no fuel controller. Would a fuel controller help? I'm looking for more hp anyhow! The ECU was reflashed by Bauce Racing. AIS and EXUP was disabled as part of the reflash but this issue existed before the reflash

Mine's been doing that. So does MichaelFZ1's bike. But it goes away once the bike warms up.

Yep. Once warm it’s fine. I notice if I cover part of the exhaust with my hand it idles smooth, not enough backpressure with no cat most likely. I’ve synced the throttle bodies to no avail, so I live with it for now.

Edit: also to note people have reported improvement by setting the idle slightly higher, to ~1300. But I like mine to idle lower.

First time heard about bauce racing. With no CAT there is no backpressure so it surges more. Time to add a fuel controller. The ECU Flash alone clearly is not helping....

Bauce Racing is quite popular in the race crowd especially with the R1 and R6. Great prices and they are awesome to work with. The idle bounce never goes away on my bike no matter if it is warm or if I turn up the idle.

you don't have a r1 or r6, there is a reason the two main fz1 tuners on here are vcycle and ivans.

I could have taken my ecu down to bauce with my buddy when he did his r6, but I chose not too. And im glad I did, if you're having power issues and sporadic idle.
