Dang man, that's some good stuff! You sell yourself short!

That's a beautiful Mustang! How was the ride?

It's raining here, again and still. Toady I saw a line of about a dozen EXACTLY alike (test ride maybe?) Harleys parked at a hotel, then four well geared guys on BMWs riding on.

Oh heck, a few photos...

It wasn't raining on the 14th. Was that the last time we were dry? Maybe?

Saturday, after work and a break between storms.

Yesterday was nice!

For a while anyway.

Self portrait in dandelions

Bobolinks are back - I almost got stuck this time. I went through two decent sized mud holes and had to turn back at the 3rd.

Ah, it was worth it. Lazuli Bunting

Western Tanager

Sandhill Crane

Who you lookin' at? Oh wait, it also SNOWED again last week.

Meanwhile, in our neighborhood, this is what happens when you go for a walk on a wet, gray afternoon, and are standing very still in the little woods by the little but fast running creek watching little birds.

Thank you mam.........nothing like the rest of shots y'all get. Been bird watchin in back yard. Neighbor has put up several feeders. Loads of Cardinals, some crows (which can be pretty in the right light) and of course squirrels galore! Funny little guys, hanging upside down, falling and trying again to get in feeder. Chipmunks, speedy little bastages that go from 0 to 100 in notime. Katie Purry cries and howls at glass door wanting to get them. Its hilarious. Good times.

Ride was fantastic. I sure feel good after 275 miles. I had a great time chasing a guy on a V11 Sport Moto Guzzi. We played tag for about 200 miles. I NEEDED it.

If I put up a feeder the body count would go up. I've freed live birds from the house twice.
I felt bad about the robin that PJ got, but having watched it the bird didn't have it's head looking around when it looked up. PJ covered 25 ft of open blacktop to get there.
The Mocking Birds had it coming, they where tormenting Nala for almost an hour by perching 2 foot away from her on the fence, then flying away. Darla her daughter ended up getting on the FBI(flying bird investigators) most wanted list for multiple murders. The rest have all been starlings and completely expendable.

Our kitty doesn't go outside. He was a rescue, and thinks he hit the kitty lotto living here. He's quite content to watch from inside and so are we to not lose him.

It's flooding here. I'll try to snap some photos.

Yuki is an indoor/outdoor male ... when inside, he's either napping in favorite spots, lobbying for cat treats, demanding attention or wanting to be let out.

Once outside, we don't see much of him, until he scratches at the door. Once a week or so, a deceased critter is found at either the front or back door ... sometimes a small bird, but usually a torso of a chameleon.

The face of a serial murderer!

We almost flooded yesterday after many days of rain. We were lucky, other people a little farther down river by about a mile not so much.

This is across the street from our house in our cul-de-sac.

There is a large pond to the right, the river spilled over into it all across the south end, and so it was spilling back out in the middle and our north end. You can see water coming over the curb. That was around 3 pm. Thankfully it started to drop right after that.

Normally the creek is on the far side of where you see water here.

It spilled out and made a new river through the woods, joining itself again about a blocks later.

The fairway

The new path

Where they closed one street in our neighborhood. If we'd gotten much more, they would've had to close another and cut off half of the hood.

The south side of the pond where the water came over. At 3 pm it was all across the end. This was around 7 pm.

You can see a bridge toward the back where the water usually goes.

Another fairway. The river again is normally in the back section you see, the middle section of water is a path, the front section the fairway.

Where it came out of the banks and went across the second street.

One of my paths. The river's normal course is in the back there. This is where the water is flowing that you see in the photo above.

Luckily the rain stopped. It's supposed to get really warm. Now the worry is snow melt, but the river really dropped overnight, so I think we'll be okay here. If it had raining into the evening like it was supposed to, we'd have been lucky just to be an island where we live.

Like I said though, other people not so lucky. Several houses along the creek halfway to town are under about five feet of water right now.

Wow, that's a lotta water. Glad to hear you didn't suffer flood damage.
Ever see this much flooding near your place before? Hope your creek side neighbors had flood insurance.

It's been high once before but not this high.

We have several FEMA rated lots, and those folks had to build up before they could build a house. That saved their bacon it looks like. I didn't see any flooded houses in our neighborhood, but that's good planning I hope.

It's down today, about half of yesterday as far as coming out of the banks. Downside is now that it's pulling back into the creek proper the creek is running even higher. If that makes sense.

That sucks, OK. I just got back from Illinois/Iowa, and this is going to be a bad crop year as a lot of fields are under water and most have not been able to plant corn or other crops, and it's almost mid year.

On the bright side there should be lots of reasonably priced soybeans for sale.
