Corbin Smuggler install help needed

I just acquired a Smuggler trunk via the Classifieds and am having difficulty getting it to attach to the bike. Could someone please post up a photo the underside of your Smuggler showing the forward mounting tabs/brackets? I need to verify that mine are installed correctly.

I don't have a picture, but I had to lay on mine to get it to latch.

I haven’t had a lot of time to mess with it, but the front end doesn’t catch or latch on to anything, from what I could see.

I have one as well, I could take a picture of it this evening, but I too have issues getting it to latch, I open the trunk lid and shove hard to get it to catch

I have owned a few Corbin seats, and had a Smuggler on my FJR. I had to mess around with the hardware on each of them to get them to work. You may have to add spacers here or there to get it to work. Trial and error stuff. Best wishes for success.

Same here, I was kind of shocked when I got told to shim the brackets considering what the seat cost me.

+1. I found out later that shitty fixings are a known or regular problem with already overpriced Corbin products. Too bad they are pretty much the only game in town for certain products like the Smuggler.

OK, after some fiddling with it this evening, I got it on. I printed off the Corbin installation manual (farse) and it was written that the tabs slide under the crossbar. That's not the case, they just wedge up against the rear side of the crossbar. Regardless, like mentioned by all, it took considerable weight to latch the rear down. Wish I could see/measure the final position of those front tabs, I'd form up a better bracket. Now looking into how much it'll cost to re-spray it the correct DRMK color. Or just paint it grey or black, lol.....
