xptuneup looks like a pretty handy site... i'll have to check that one out a bit more at home.

techtv.... i get caught watching that show quite often... or at least i did while stuck in a hotel while away on business this week. from what i've seen, they actually have some pretty good tips on occasion.

pc pitstop... i was actually looking at that site before i went to lunch. was going to post it out here when i got back, but see you beat me to it. looks like it could be pretty useful as well.

Try The GIMP it's an outstanding image manipulation package that rivals PhotoShop in its capabilities. Available for most platforms.

for those of you with digital cameras, i would highly recommend checking out www.dotphoto.com for having your digital images converted over to real film (you won't be able to tell the difference between a 35mm pic and a pic created by dotphoto from the digital image you provide... depending on the quality of your camera of course). you can have pretty much anything made there... wallet size, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, photo mugs, photo shirts, mouse pads... you name it. check it out. the prices are great too.

Fractal Explorer

I've found this program to be a lot of fun, and it doesn't require much knowledge of fractals.

I played around with it a few minutes ago and came up with this image:

I don't use any software firewalls anymore. I leave it up to my Linksys router. I prefer to
keep as few things occupying the procs time.

fyi.... version 1.3 of spybot S & D is now available... looks like a pretty good improvement over 1.2, definitely worth downloading and updating.
