The old bike pic thread

I just found this pic from 1974 or 75 and thought it might be a good idea if we had a thread for vintage photos of bikes we owned. I loved this thing more than any object before or since.

1991 Honda XR 200, I rode the absolute wheels off that bike. As far as I was concerned I was Ricky Johnson and no one would convince me otherwise. Couldn't keep fork seals in it, broke the foot pegs off so many times I ended up through bolting them to the frame with grade 8 bolts, that I then bent. Thankfully I saved enough money to trade it and get a proper CR 250

I've posted these before, sure does bring back memories...

Photo taken in late 70's... 196? Honda 50 passport 3 speed. Note the trail I had going through the front yard.

Photo taken 1985-1986... 1978 Honda XL125, no helmet of course, 17 years old or so here.

I'll only back to here. Photo taken in 1989 or 1990... 1983 Honda Nighthawk 650.

My dad had someone at work do the pipe. You had to push mine to get rolling unless you were facing downhill, but it had long legs and was a blast to ride. It pulled to 14k (stock redline was 10k, 12k max) but as I didn't change anything internal you couldn't use that often. I put a full fairing on it and painted it black. We raced outside town every Friday after school and although I was slow to get away, for a short while it was the fastest (50cc) bike in town. I had to cut the speedometer to allow the needle to move lower than the 120km/h max indicated, it would get up to about 135km/h indicated (no idea actual)..

Ah, memories.

The guy I sold it to destroyed it the first week. Blew it up!

My dad would let me ride his DR250 on weekends. I had about a year and a half on (my friend's) dirt-bike before I got my own at 16..

Lets go do some jumps on my bike.
Don't you need a helmet?
Nah I'm good.

Also posted before, but one of my favorites.

You just got me thinking that my FZ is a 2004, so 15 years old. Is that an old bike now?

My first bike before it was even mine (following the no helmet theme), bought from a friend and took it through 10 years and two major learning curves (learning to ride and then learning to ride in the mountains). My initial restoration of it, laughed when I was sanding the fairings I bought and found they were original 94 like the bike; too bad they had a hideous pink/brown color scheme over the original colors, 3rd pic was at a drag strip test and tune. I spent the night with a friend in his LT1 Corvette with a functioning optispark trying to beat me. He took out everything he could including trim pieces but never quite got me.

and finally made it to the mountains, the FZR400 in the first pic was a Deal's Gap local running slicks and if I recall some suspension work done on it.
