Manfred was interviewed during the game. He’s sooooo insistent on expanding to other countries.

What west coast teams are going to fly 10 hours to play routine games in Europe. Ridiculous. Will east coast teams fly to Japan? Lol.

Focus on issues here dude.

Baseball seems so simple but I took my russian girlfriend who had never seen a game to a Jays game and I spent most of the game answering her questions. Simple stuff we take for granted like fouling balls. I told her a foul ball was a strike and she had already been told about three strikes and you are out so she asked why is this guy still batting after he fouled off a third strike. She came to several games with me and still knows next to nothing. It is a complicated game unless one has grown up with it. No chance to grow the game in Europe. None, zip, nada.

So true about explaining the game to someone with no idea. You can spend the entire
game doing it!!

I didn’t realize how little I really knew about the game till I started going a lot and listening to the giants broadcasters during the game.

Hell I still scratch my head at times.

Many, many years ago, I scored a pair of seats to a Phillies playoff game. I was dating this girl, a very attractive but incredibly dumb blonde at the time. She wanted to be a stewardess but kept failing the exams, so she continued on with her hostess job. Anyway, I asked her if she liked baseball, and would she like to go to the playoff game with me. She said yes and sure, so off we went. After a while during the game, I noticed that she would cheer when the crowd did, but not much else. So I began trying to explain a few fundamentals of the game. Oh, she'd say, uh huh. But I didn't think she really understood anything. The defining moment, however, came when she asked me why the 'players' in the dark uniforms didn't go back in to their dugouts between innings.

LOL I can relate. Prior to my Russian girfriend I had one from trinidad and I took her to a hockey game. When the first period was over and the players went off the ice she stood up and started putting her coat on so I asked her what she was doing. She said "Isn't it over?"

To be fair I would have left after the first period of a hockey game too.

Gotta do something with those 4 minutes that they cut out of the average game.

Not once you realize the best fights are always in the 3rd period.

I feel bad for the people who sit through an entire Nascar race with no rooting interest and there is never more than a 3 car pileup.

Yeah, I just read that. Yikes that's hard. Could just be an undetected heart condition, etc. Who knows. Heard they postponed the game to let his teammates deal with it.

you know the dodgers are “the chosen ones” after last nights game.

Trailing by one run on bottom of the 9th with TWO outs and NO ONE on base Holland walked four in a row to tie the game and the next pitcher walked the fifth in a row for a true walk off.

Good grief. Two down and you walk five in row??

Happens all the time

The truth is I would be surprised if that has happened before.

Harper got his 200th Homer on hit #1000.
Also never happened before.
Unaware Braves fan throws the ball back on the field to make a statement.
That statement? I'm a jackass.

Looked to me like Harper was asking for the ball back while he was rounding the bases. Dunno.

And to me, that was a case of very bad coaching. After the second walk, i would have pulled that pitcher, for somebody else. Third walk, i would have pulled him. Walking five players in a row, is ridiculous. I guess the Dodgers are that intimidating this year.

Didn't see it, I assumed that Harper saw it go back on the field before he motioned for it.
The teams have negotiators to go into the stands for those kind of souvenirs.

Could be -- I watched the game but couldn't tell exactly when he was motioning for the ball. He IS hated here in Atlanta -- he kills us whenever he is here. 29 of his 200 homers have been against the Braves.
