No Power POWER!!!

hey all... I tried searching through with tired eyes and got nothing.

07 FZ1. No power.

Turn key, nothing. Battery is so so. But at least the display should light up but I got nothing. I do have a manual. But what parts to check down the line with the tester would anyone suggest first.

It's been going downhill since I tried to start it this spring. Even had a battery tender on it. I got 11v on the battery as it is. That's the easy one. But my guess is I have something I need to replace.

Start by using jumper cables to connect a regular car battery - NOT while the car is running.

First off, 11V is only "so so" if the battery is under a heavy load. With the ignition switch off 11V is a badly discharged battery, at best. What battery voltage do you see, when the ignition switch is on?

Second, not all battery tender Jrs are designed for valve regulated batteries. If you have the wrong tender, leaving the battery on the battery tender will ruin the battery. Check the DelTran website for the specs on your model battery tender jr.

Agree with Herr Fuehrer...........

Did you also check the main fuse?

Battery voltage should be somewhere 12.3 or more....... yes 1.3 volts is that big a deal.......

Bingo. Beat me to it. My vote is on a bad battery and a blown main fuse.

Yeah. I was getting lights. Was gonna go down and get a battery but decided to turn the key on and... nothing. Surprised me a bit.

I'll check that fuse as well. Seemed to me there was a relay inbetween all that.

That's interesting about the battery tender. I didn't think there was much difference between them.

I'm just ho humming with this thing. FJR sitting next to it, raining like hell outside. Bhhaaaaaaaaa.......

It's funny. The OEM battery lasted me years and years. Without a tender. I'd just fire it up every month or so. But every battery I've bought since has been crap.

Thanks folks.

I'm doing good! I'm in Richland sometimes. We bought a place in Idaho with a giant shop so I tend to spend most my time up here these days. Still have the FZ but added an FJR to the stable and a Viking UTV. Keeps me busy.... lol.

Hope all is well with you!
