But at least there’s an American in the mix this year, Gerloff made the jump from Motoamerica and the guy is fast and smooth. I’m curious to see what he’s able to do.

He has been having some decent test sessions. Yes it is good to see GG there.

I see Scott Redding making a serious run for the championship next season on the duc. He just wrapped up the British Superbike championship.

I was reading that too, close to the factory guys on his first outing. His talent was overshadowed by bad luck at the start of last year but eventually shown through. He’s smooth and one of those riders who can check out when given clear air. I last regularly watched when Bayliss was in his last years but want to get back in, a US rider sounds like just the excuse.

Local government decided the team that managed Laguna Seca since 1957 needed to change. I wonder if the new management didn't negotiate as well with WSB.

I have been kind of lukewarm on WSBK for awhile, but there is no denying that Jonny Rea is really, really good.

Looks to me like a political coup.

FWIW Roadracing World recently published an item directing folks to this article at Racer.com regarding the Laguna Seca management change:

INSIGHT: Monterey County Sham

I was correct.

I didn't know any of this before now, but Monterey County's selection process didn't pass the smell test from all the way over here in Georgia.
