A friend of ours shut the doors to his art studio last week. This is a song he wrote. Our county is losing hundreds of businesses and not a single death yet.

Well, what’s the deal? I hope you are OK.

In other news, I can almost make a ponytail now. Some white NBs, a pair of fringy jorts, and a ribtick would complete the look.

Our local Great Clips opened its doors last week. So on my birthday I treated my self to a hair cut. Yikes - I knew it was getting shaggy, but what looking at the large pile of hair on the floor afterwards reminded me it's been since Jan that I had it done.

Our office announced plans for limited opening maybe in June. 1/2 allowed in at a time, all must wear face masks, temp checks before entering building, no cafeteria, no gym, no more than 6 allowed in a meeting.

To be honest, I might as well stay home as it would seem easier to connect with people vs what they have in mind.

I tested NEGATIVE wohoo. Going for a follow up today to nail down the cause of my fever.
Gonna take the Ducati out for a celebratory rip. If I get stopped do you think a negative covid test would get me just a warning?

Great news! (Maybe wait until your fever delirium passes before ripping on the bike? )

Great news!

If you get stopped, rub your eyes so they're sorta bloodshot, start coughing, pretend sneezing, say how horrible you've been feeling, then ask the officer to feel your forehead to check for a fever.

Maybe you'll get a wave-off from 6 feet away. Good luck and have fun.

I saw that covid-related deaths in US exceeded 100,000 yesterday. Pretty significant number.

I have a college friend in NYC who just got well enough today to post that he and his wife had it. They have two daughter's ages 3 and 7. He said at one point his wife couldn't get out of bed for four days, and the seven year old was taking care of both of the parents. They were afraid to call friends or family to get the girls and risk infecting them. He said the seven year old starting out asking if death was bad, and crying, because so many people were dying from it.

Significant yes, but it is based on a long running estimation by John Hopkins.
The CDC weekly totals give you a good idea of where we are at. These are the numbers that are actually reported. They are never complete for the most recent few weeks. The current report number is 81,000, the actual number when the weeks are complete will be more like 88,000 uptil today. The peak was 22% of all deaths were Covid 19. We are now at between 5% and 6%. We won't hit that 100k number for another 8 or 9 weeks.

The 100,000 number is a useful sound bite. "Grim milestone". I doubt if the news people reporting it knows it is an estimate vs real. Taking advantage of the sound bite to get ratings? Nah.......

Even the numbers of those who have Covid are suspect, as it is a factor of the number of tests and who are being tested, which are changing from time to time.

I look (when I can find it) at the hospitalizations and to some degree the deaths from Covid (although that is also not perfect, as those who pass also have many co morbidities and attributing death to Covid is in many cases a subjective decision by the person signing the death certificate, statistician classifying, etc.)

GA is opening up, so I'll be keeping an eye on what is happening here. So far so good.

I trust the Johns Hopkins numbers more than I do the CDC.

And that the amount that people claim are over counted (a death with other corresponding issues where the person got covid is still due to covid, let's face it, that diabetic might've lived another five decades without covid) are most likely vastly matched by not having enough tests to count all of the people who got it, weathered it out, and never got tested at all and the people who died from it in places where the same lack of tests applied.

I know here in western Michigan they are advertising for people to get tested and most people still aren't. My county has had 71 positive tests and 0 deaths. But Michigan as a whole is 56,014 cases with 5,372 deaths damn near 10%.

I probably wouldn't get tested hoping to save the tests for people who are really sick.

Yeah, a lot of people just don't get tested unless it's get-me-to-a-hospital kind of bad. I've known a couple of people who are 99% sure they had it but either there were no tests at the time or they just waited it out at home and got through it.

They've been advertising free testing here, for everyone for a couple weeks now. I say here, but the nearest testing location is 30 miles away in the county seat. They don't say what test is being used, so we can't know how reliable the test could be (if handled correctly). I expect I'm better off just staying away from the testing facility until they get more of the bugs worked out.

If anything, covid19 19 deaths are under, not over, reported. Per Dr Fauci.
