That's interesting. Kind caters to narcissism, the way they portray it, but interesting.

Oooh. This gets better. Seems GoPro got their panties in a bunch over this. Heavy handed action resulted.

I am not necessarily a huge fan of Chad Reed, but this is BS.

So we do stuff while we're living in a limited time frame then watch ourselves doing what we did. I don't get it, wouldn't it just be better to continue to do stuff till our time runs out?

At $499 on pre-order, it is on the pricier side, with the most expensive (and newest) GoPro costing the same amount. But I suppose the GoPro requires you purchase the SD card and mounts separately.

Kinda cool I guess....very similar concept as the GP...you shoot forward if you want (i.e. most of the time if you're on a motorcycle), but if the video is to be believed, it would let you go back and view all the different angles from your shoot. Could be cool to see things you couldn't view with traditional helmet or bar mount.

Edit: actually, think how useful that would be for post-crash motorcycle footage. Say you had your GP mounted on your helmet as many do, facing forward. In that mounting, you have essentially 180 degree vision unless you turn yourself around. This would be very neat -- it shoots forward, but just swiping left or right on the app, would have you viewing side to side, and behind as well.

The brown stuff gets deeper. Although one can be sponsored by and drink Red Bull in Monster Supercross, it seems Chad Reed is not allowed to use this camera as GoPro is also a major sponsor of the series. That is some heavy handed BS by GoPro. Go Contour!

As for recording our fun, I suppose one could get carried away with it, but I treasure my motley collection of dirt bike and kid playing competitive volleyball videos. Kind of like a photo album, but in motion The neat thing about the dirt bike vids is having the camera on does not intrude on the ride at all. Sometimes it captures crazy stuff, like me eating it on the CR250 here

maybe i should dump my gopro and use anybody's elses gear.

there is no competition in a sport if one has to be exactly like everybody else.

kinda like giving everybody a award even if they came in dead last 12 hrs late in a 1/4 mile run.

Why are you bumping near two year old threads? And, no don't dump your gopro. Dump the AMA for giving gopro what any business would love to have - an exclusive deal.
