I updated my iPhone and (smaller) iPad Pro with the new OS. Like most of the changes but not a fan of the new lock screen log in process though I'm getting used to it. You can revert back to old way under setting>>accessibility if you want.
iMessages is much cooler now but requires the recipient to be on OS 10 or they don't get all the fancy effects and such.
I also updated the watch...much faster now for apps you've recently used but still somewhat slow if it's an app you haven't used in awhile as the speed up comes from caching recent apps so they load faster. After I installed it, my battery ran down really quick but I did a hard reset and I've been wearing it for over 2 hours today and it's at 99% batter so looks like that was an anomaly associated with the update.

My phone and watch delivers today!

On a side note, how much more media frenzy and jokes and ridicule you think Apple would be giving if their phones starting blowing up like the Samsung ones?

Eh, it's only 1 million phones. I'm sure the media wouldn't even mention it if was Apple.

Got my notification that mine is ready for pick up at 11:30 today. Got a simple case coming from Amazon tomorrow.

Given all the Android features from 2012 that Apple caught up with on iPhone 6 you probably need to wait another year or two for iExplode ;)

Well crap. Just noticed that my 6 hasn't backed it self up since June.

Trying to do the back up manually now and it's just sitting there "estimating time remaining".

great...

i backed up manually a few days ago both on the cloud and itunes. Will do again this evening before migrating. That way if the latest backup is somehow corrupt, I have a very recent secondary backup.

Was not able to get it to manually backup to iCloud. I had to fire up iTunes. Back up went fine. Phew.

Really?
Did you go to Settings >> iCloud and choose backup...it should bring you to the screen that shows you when the last backup was done and a 'link' for "Back Up Now"?

If that's not available and it hasn't backed up in months, you may have some sort of issue with your iCloud account. Maybe log into it from a computer web browser.

Also, now that your phone is migrated and you've altered any settings needed - do a new backup

And the utter crap that is iTunes strikes again. Won't recognize the new phone so can't restore it.

So fvck it. Good time to weed out some of the 120 apps I had on the old one and start fresh.

Yes. It said last backup was in June. Tried to "back up now" and it just sat there spinning.

A quick comparison of the cameras in really low light.

Oh and holy shit the finger print reader is instantaneous. I thought it wasn't even turned on it opens so fast.

Wow, that's a big improvement!

My stuff was delivered to my wife's office so someone would be there to sign for it. Now I'm just waiting until she gets home. It's like waiting for Santa.

My wife's phone that had originally been shown for delivery in October is now on the truck out for delivery today. Somebody in China was cracking the whip a little harder.
