After I got the FZ1 2+ years ago, XXX asked me when I was going to let him ride it. I said "I'll let you ride mine just like you would let me ride your new bike." I knew damn well he wouldn't let me ride any bike of his. He went off on a tirade about how he had 40 thousand miles and all of this experience, on and on. Then he told me about a friend of his that showed up at his house on a new GSXR1000. XXX said that the friend insisted that he take it for a spin. XXX said he hopped on it and had it up to 90 in first gear before the end of the block.

Yeah. Right. Here's the keys.

Well, if doing this to his face when he starts in on his mindless drivel is respect, then I got plenty!

I think most of us know someone like XXX. A couple of weeks ago three of us from work decided to get together for a ride (I had never ridden with either person). I showed up in an appropriate level of gear (jacket, AlpineStar boots, helmet, gloves). Subject A had a helmet, low boots, and gloves. He was riding his new GSXR600. Subject B had a helmet, sneakers, sleeveless shirt, and shorts. He was riding his newish ZZR600. Both were picking on me for my level of protective gear.
Subject B claims to be an excellent rider and had subject A convinced of this. B has frequently smoked his tire and done a few wheelies to drive this point home.
I tell A to ride his own pace regardless of what he sees, and I will frequently slow down to wait for him to catch up if need be. Before we even get to the gas station to top our bikes off subject B has almost t-boned a Harley and dropped his bike while obtaining cash from an ATM. Needless to say, by the end of the ride I believe A was second guessing his hero worship of B.

Silver....big props for your great attitude. I couldn't deal with brain dead morons all day. The best part of your post is that after reading it......i'm not going to complain about anything for a week at least.

Actually, I'm afraid I'm losing whatever positive attitude I had. The dad was a friend of mine before I took the job. I hang in there for that, too. Part of the fun is being able to toss the blatant stupidity back in thier faces.

My wife knows all to well the situation and the cast of characters. And I have her full support to pull the quit switch when it all becomes too much. Unfortunately, I have a high pain threshold!

So, XXX comes into my office and asks to use my key to get into one of the other offices. I asked him where his key was. His reply? "I keep it in my jacket in my locker so I won't lose it." I asked "If that's the case, what is the point in you having a key?" He then went off on a 5 minute rant about how his key won't let him into every nook and cranny in the building. I said "Like we don't know what we're doing." That was gas on the fire.

You know, Silver, keeping this thread alive with fresh bits may actually be therapeutic. IT could provide you with some much need release. Kinda like scream therapy without all the noise and sore throats. Of course, we're here to help.

This is one of my favorite XXX stories...

We have continuous roll towel dispensers in our bathrooms at work. Like most places, everybody here uses them, but only a handful of folks will bother to replace the roll when it is finished. Changing the roll is easy, there are instructions printed inside the metal hood. Changing the roll can be a noisy affair. Especially when you're pissed off at whoever couldn't be bothered to replace the roll, but had plenty of time and energy to jam the end of the roll back up inside so it looks like they didn't use the last of the roll. I guess a somewhat clear concience is priceless. Anyway, one day I'm in the bathroom changing out the roll with the door open. And the story unfolds...

XXX says from down the hall "Dude, what are you doing in there?"

I reply "It figures you don't know what causes this noise."

He wanders down to see what I'm up to.

He says "What?"

Again I say "It figures you wouldn't be familiar with what makes this noise."

He says "I've never been a janitor. You can't expect me to know how to do that." and leaves.

Hmmmm? I've never been a janitor either.

This was so ridiculous that I shared it with his dad. I laughed out loud as I told him the story. He laughed too.

I keep trying to find ways to re-incorporate his statement back into his life.

Yes, this has been therapeutic. It also helps to get feed back that confirms this stuff is as insane as I think it is.

I look forward to rearing the exploits of this guy every day. It's better than any soap opera.

In fact I've already given XXX a name in my head because he reminds me of someone else I use to work with.

Keep up the good work!!!
