jacket modification

Anybody here ever install/replace snaps on a riding jacket. My old Firstgear jacket had snaps on the sleeves for closure. My new Firstgear jacket and also my Tourmaster jacket both have velcro. I'm not that fond of the velcro.

Snaps are easy to install, you can buy a kit that includes everything you need. Make a hole, fit the pieces together inside the provided tool, and whack with a hammer..

Buy your own parts and take them to a quality shoe repair shop. They can sew in the new straps, buttons etc.

I used a shoe shop to add anti slide straps/connectors to my kit

That is the only place I could find that could sew something that thick.

I did some snap repairs to a jacket years ago with the parts I bought at Tandy Leather. Worked like a charm, snaps are still installed and functioning perfectly. Got a Tandy Leather shop nearby? Give them a try.
