Sorry ZachD for the hijack. Your right it is an excellent lid. I can said I owned one for 24 hours but my Frankenstein forehead ruined long term ownership.

Just got my wife a GT-Air. Not gonna lie that helmet is awesome. I'm now having a hard time justifying keeping my Nolan N104...

I didn't think you would. It might be a little entertainment for some. I mean what else we got to do.....except ride.

The new Neotec will be here next Tuesday with thicker cheek pads so hopefully that's as good as it gets for me. I gave the folks at Revzilla a plug on the phone and they threw in a T-shirt and didn't tell me but I saw it on the order. They have been absolutely WONDERFUL to deal with.

I love RevZilla. I always try to support my local shop (Iron Pony) but if they don't carry something I always turn to RevZilla first. Great
vendor.

Enjoy that Shoei !!

ZachD, how does the GT Air compare to your X-Eleven for airflow and comfort?

I've had my X-Eleven for ten years, too, and like how it ventilates and would not want something any hotter.

Also do you know if the flip down shade works with glasses on?

Thanks

Yes, the drop down totally works with glasses, the liner even has "tunnels" in the temple area to help glasses fit better.

I hope this answers your questions sufficiently

Thanks, ZachD. If you get time to test ventilation head-to-head with the X-Eleven, please let us know!

Sounds like a great lid.

I wear polarized sunglasses (plastic frame) with my Neotec, drop-down sun shade doesn't interfere. I need both in bright sunlight but it's nice to be able to flip the drop-down up when I need a bit more light..

You don't have a problem with seeing rainbows and stuff looking through the shield with polarized glasses?

I do and disappointed I can't use them for that reason. I saw a pink car one day that was actually white so I quit wearing polarized lenses on the bike.

Nope. Colors on some vehicles at some angles can be off, but I don't see rainbows. I get headaches in the sunlight without polarized shades.

I don't actually see rainbows, that's the way I heard a UPS driver explain it to an eye doctor. But it makes me see some type of distortion or illusion.

But guess what my Neotec is on the front porch waiting on me. I will report back once I try them with the new lid.

Don't get any ideas fellow Bama riders, my dog is guarding it until I get home. Just wake her up before you leave (God bless her 13 years old).

10 years in a helmet?...IMO you should buy a new model regardless. Plus that gives you an excuse for a new helmet

I just bought all new liners from Shoei for the X-Eleven.

Along with two replacement shields: clear and mirrored.

My clear had a couple scratches. And the mirrored had holes eaten into it when a road construction crew on the Florida Keys Scenic Highway sprayed me with a mysterious fluid.

I could have bought half a helmet for the cost of the liners and shields! But I really like the helmet and didn't want to just discard it.

The GT Air would be a nice addition for sure as a main or backup helmet.

Do you see double rainbows with the GT shade down?

That would seal the deal.

Well I have the Neotec and took it for it's first ride a few mins ago. Fits great and the first time I can actually say I feel a blanket of air across my scalp. I think this one is a keeper.
