Yeah but I can see why people are confused because it is a photo shopped photo of the lobster not the actual package. It will be a lot more clear when I have an actual package with a lobster in it.

I can arrange that. It will be a while yet though.

Since they're frozen, what about mail order? Omaha Steak / Amazon like delivery?

Post up your web site when you get a chance.

I can see a lot of shoppers being initially confused, because they’ve never seen frozen lobster then thinking, “why hasn’t this been available before?”

For that reason, it might take a while to catch on. But once people get used to buying it, you’re off to the races.

My wife loves lobster.

And I think high end is the way to go. The middle class don’t have money, anymore; yet everyone’s fighting for it. These days you gotta sell either Kias or Mercedes.

I’m glad to hear that you’re so inspired and motivated by this new venture!

Regarding research vs intuition, can anybody tell me what demographic you’d spend your ad dollars on if opening an athletic shoe store? In other words, who buys running shoes?

The answer is people over 55 with household income over 150,000K! (They spend the most.)

Running shoes! Billions of dollars a year.

A lot of people would intuitively advertise to consumers in their twenties and thirties.

That particular statistic is published in the U.S. Statistical Abstract. It used to be available for free. But the budget cuts to the Census Department led them to privatize it.

So now you can buy the latest version on Amazon for $183. Or visit your local library.

Some of this survey data is available through the Census.gov website, but complex searches can be difficult for most people.

I always suggest that entrepreneurs get to know the business librarian at their local academic or public library.

Some people think you can just Google it. But library research (done with paid databases and searched by experts) can make the difference between bankruptcy or millions in profit. My library spends $7M annually on information resources.

Pete is smart to do the research and branding right!

I'm sure "cold water extracted" and "PETA approved" are NOT on that package by accident! It's done with research, focus, and intention.

I can't wait to try it, Pete!

That said, we do have an old-school prime rib and steak house here in Santa Barbara (the Tee Off) that has a Tuesday lobster dinner special for $25. All dinners include a garnish plate of green onion, carrot sticks, pepperoncini and ranch dressing, soup (prime rib or clam chowder), salad, rice pilaf or potato (baked, garlic mash, french fries), sauteed veggies, and 1.25 lb whole Maine lobster (split and grilled). It's a LOT of food and it's done well, and at a price that is pretty amazing. Just went there last Tuesday.

Plus, their drinks are the strongest in town!

Yep, there sure is!

The Tee Off is known for their prime rib, and they cook a lot of it. They make soup from the leftovers. Basically it's a beef vegetable soup, heavy on the beef...
