If you want your own logo, it will be scaled to fit in an area .5" tall and 1" wide. Aspect ratio will not be changed. I can work with most any graphic format - dxf, dwg, jpg or any other bitmap image. Line art or filled, doesn't matter. The image can start out any size you want - I'll handle the scaling.

PM me for details on how to send me the image. I'll work with you.

So, I have a bunch of units assembled, programmed, tested on my bench tester, and ready to go. I would like to test a couple of them on a bike, just to make sure everything is working ok in the real environment. Only problem is that I no longer have a running FZ1 in my garage. So I'll see if I can get Bad Moon's bike for a couple of days and do some road testing with it. I have a complete gauge cluster I can swap onto a bike pretty easily, so I won't have to mess with his other than to change out the whole thing.

Fingers crossed. I could very possibly be shipping early next week.

If you remove the windscreen, you can unplug his cluster and plug yours in, just sitting on top. If you ride, you might need to secure it a little.

That's how I tested one I installed for another member on my bike.

On-board test was a success. I'll be contacting each of you shortly to exchange payment and shipping info. If you want to get a jump on that, PM me your shipping address. If by chance my PM box fills up and I don't catch it, email me at

See update in the first post in this thread for order status. Some of you have PMs. Others will be following shortly.

I'll buy one, preferably with the tuning fork outline as shown in lower right in your post #80 photo. If it shortens delivery time(15-47 sprockets are putting miles on the bike odometer really quickly), I'd accept the solid tuning fork instead. Thanks!

FYI, so that you guys and anyone else reading this thread know what's going on:

I made a batch of 50 of them. First production run for the US version. (Schlumpf is also making them for sale in Europe, with a slightly different design. Both designs share the same software, and function is identical.)

Out of the batch of 50, I have 43 that survived initial debug and setup. There are a few that were sacrificed because the first mounting solution I came up with did not work as well as I had thought it would. The attempts to get it to work resulted in damage to some of the units. In any batch like this there are a few that fail for other random reasons. Bottom line is that I have the 43 that are good and working fine.

The 43 are all spoken for in this thread. If you go through and count the people who said they'd buy one, there are more than 43 people wanting one. I suspect a few of them will drop out, making room for some of the late-comers. So my plan is to send them out in the order that people committed to buy in this thread. With 2 exceptions - eskort and kjm both get one for free, since they both helped me out in some way during the design/development process.

Once all the ones I currently have are sold and gone, I'll see how much interest there is in another batch. Once there is enough to justify the costs of another production run, I'll get that underway. Production of the bare boards and assembly of the SMT components (which are most of the components on the board) takes 6-8 weeks. Now that I have the bench test rig setup and have worked out all the software loading issues, I estimate another 4 weeks to do final assembly and test. So about 3 months for another complete run.

As long as there is continued interest, I'll keep making them.

Just wanted to mention the available support documents. Though the devices work out of the box, it might be good to have them for backup.

First the excellent story from Pat:
http://www.cartestsoftware.com/fz1/m...tallation.html
It's from some years back, and based on older designs, but still very helpfull and well pictured. Only beware of some cable colors that have been changed.

Next my own documents. Excuse my poor english, still learning and glad for help and corrections ..

Installation:
http://cvieth.bplaced.net/Multi_gaug...stallation.pdf

User guide:
http://cvieth.bplaced.net/MultiGauge...ide_SW1003.pdf
Recent software counts 1005 but changes are minor.

In case you'd like to later add a GPS or fuel economy have a look to these:
Add-ons:
http://cvieth.bplaced.net/MultiGauge_AddOns_V9.pdf

Grommet's hardware looks a bit different. Updated documents will be created a soon as the possible.
