Starter (choke) cable question

I ordered a new cable to replace a broken one.Does anyone know what the difference is on the updated part #? I haven’t started the job yet, but I noticed the new one looks different than the old one.

Haven't had to replace mine, so not a clue. Post some pics and let's take a look.

Not sure why it’s a new part #, but the new one installed just like the old one. I had read somewhere in these forums you had to remove the carbs to install this cable.Wrong! I just raised the tank and removed the seat, it was super easy (took about 10 minutes).
