Braves had a rough week, but still 3 up. Chipper is fading away, trades were made, pen is solid, starters respectable, bats slumping. Perfect prerequisites to an immaculate home stand.

The Reds finally won a series with them after they gave two games away in Atlanta. I'm glad we have 3 games with the Pirates now

It might not, but Ive been a NY fan since I was a kid.

However, the Rangers and Cardinals were the two teams I got
to see the most of. Being six hours away from
a Rangers game, and eight from the Cards...made them
local teams for me.

The Rangers dropped their first series since the all-star break - let the Angels have two of three. Not so much for a lack of pitching, but the guys need to find where they put their bats.

Still up 8 on the Angels, and 8.5 on the A's.

Got to sweep the Mariners!

So now LAdogs have even given up on that nutty loser Manny. Yes, they've
gotten rid of the "Mannywood" sign that they so proudly erected when the
LAdouchebag arrived from Boston after having quit on that team. So now he
quits on the LAdogs, and the team quits, the owners quit, and the fans quit.
LAdogs lay down with fleas.

Of course tonight when I need LAdogs to beat the Pads, they quit again and
get smoked for their 6th loss in a row.

Ah, it's ok. LAdog's fans will continue to arrive in the 3rd inning and leave in the
6th inning, win or lose, and wander off to see the wax museum or some other miracle of the
LaLa land. They don't really give a crap about that team, so it's no biggee.

You're riding high now

Here comes the Tribe!

No, not really. They beat the sox in Fenway and it costs them their supernatural catcher phenom Carlos Santana

No amount of over-sized man boobs and under-sized testes will help this team.

I was watching that game, and when I saw his stance at the plate and the runner coming I just cringed. I couldn't stand to watch the replays. Holy crap that was nasty. That kid is something else too, very impressive. Reminds me of Posey on the Giants, sad to see him out.

So we're getting a slight taste of what Giants fans have felt for so many years.

For Desmo's sake I hope the Giants can recapture the glory of the 2004 season (I think the last time the Giants finished second in the West)

I believe this picture captures the moment:

My son and I endured the steambath that is Turner Field last night. We left just before Chipper cracked his solo homer.....before that though he was looking a bit long in the tooth. The good thing is that the Braves are good at reloading, its just taken awhile to get the right combination of guys in the clubhouse. I really like Alex Gonzalez and it was nice to see Rick Ankiel show of his arm on a throw into the infield last night.

My 5-year is the BIGGEST Braves fan....trust me, every night we HAVE to watch and knows what time and who's pitching at least a day in advance!

Dodgers 9, swines from s.d. this evening, nil! LOL!
Bring on the Giants to Dodger Stadium, or should i say, the "perennial" west coast World Series losers since 1958 or so, on the west coast! LOL! Oh, and of course, go Lakers!!!!!
I almost feel sorry for you Giants fans. Who knows, some day, and i mean SOME DAY, your team ""Might"" actually win the whole gig on the west coast. "Might", is the operative word here! LOL!

Ain't been nothing but football news on the front pages of the sports section for the last two weeks. Baseball coverage starts around page 5.

Baseball seems to be a "filler" sport, at least around here. Even The Stain is apathetic about it. Of course the Tribe has been in the basement all year.

Also, we only have a minor league team here in Jax, owned by the Marlins.

As you were...

Texas bats finally woke up last night, with Murphy's go-ahead three-run jack and Young's slam. Let's keep it going, boys. Wilson's outing was short, giving up 4 runs in 3, but oddly enough, I'm not worried about pitching with this Ranger team, and I don't think we've ever had the luxury of having solid pitching in Texas before.

Go Rangers!

I like the clip ESPN is running "I don't play this game for the money" what a bunch of BS. The guy is on every other commercial during the season.

I want to agree with you on this Buc, but you know its always been said no one wants to pitch down here during the dog days of summer. We'll see once they get home from the cool NW. 102-104 temp each day with a heat index of up to 110 and no dome.

+1 on the Go Rangers!!
