Dodgers put up 15 runs on the board last night - the way things had been going it would take them 20 games to get that many runs.
Jay Gibbons, our local Ventura boy, made us proud. I'm sure he'll have an inevitable dropoff from his recent awesomeness, but boy what a great time for him.
Garret Anderson, goodbye I respect the heck out of his accomplishments, but that dude will probably retire with all the pizzazz and excitement of ... well... his personality. I fell asleep just thinking about it.
SD and SF better watch their rearview - LA knows how to close out a season on top.

Keep it up against the Phillies! Hopefully they slow down before getting to ATL....I'm going the game Friday night at Turner.

The Rangers took game 1 of the home series against the [hated] Yankees last night in grand fashion! Walk-off single by Murph in the bottom of the tenth to score the winning run from third.

Cliff Lee pitching tonight! Guys, score some runs for him!

Eight and a half up on the Angels, and nine up on the A's!

Go Rangers!

Suhweet!

After a disappointing loss to the Yankees on Wednesday, the Rangers took it out on the Sox last night, beating Boston with a lead off walk-off homer in the bottom of the 11th by Cruz.

One pitch from Wakefield, one jack 420 feet into the left field seats.

And that after being down 8-2 after 3 1/2. Nice comeback to win 10-9.

Hamilton is continuing to be ridiculous. 4 for 5 last night with 4 runs scored, and two highlight-reel grabs in deep center. He's hitting .455 for the last week, and .421 since the All-Star break. That AL MVP trophy is going to look good on his mantle, right next to the 2010 AL batting title trophy.

Still 8.5 up on the Angels, and 9 up on the A's! 48 games left until October baseball in Arlington!

Go Rangers!

Ah the Pads are kryptonite to the G men.

Was at the cubs game Thursday and had a blast. Sat in the arcade and watched pandas hr fly overhead and splash down into the cove. Saw burrells triple and if course Torress Walk off game winning hit in the 9th. Great stuff.

I'm currently at 21st Amendment prepping for today's game. I'm solo today so I can just put in the headphones and disappear into the game.

Hmm... Reminds me I haven't had lunch yet. Not sure I could handle chili right now though.

Hope your team wins. (Especially since your team is my team too.)

Great shot.

I had it recorded (plus an extra hour) but the recordings cut off at the 10th, so I didn't see the end. Thanks for the play by play.

The Rocket is in deep doo doo.

Clemens to be indicted

Quote:
The New York Times reported on its website Thursday that federal authorities have decided to indict Roger Clemens on charges of making false statements to Congress about his use of performance-enhancing drugs.

The Times said it based its report on information from two people briefed on the matter and said an announcement is expected in the near future.

Clemens and his former trainer, Brian McNamee, testified under oath at a hearing before a House committee and contradicted each other about whether Clemens had used the banned substances.

The committee held the hearing in February 2008.

Took three of four from the AL-Central-leading Twins at home! I was all ready for the with Cliff Lee on the hill last night, but 'twas not to be.

We're still up 8.5 on the A's and 9.5 on the Angels, but dang, I'm really concerned about our staff ace. Lee gave up 5 in 5 last night, he's 2 and 5 as a Ranger, and his ERA is nearly twice [4.50] with the Rangers what it was with Seattle [2.34] in the first half of the season.

C'mon, Cliff. Get it together.

Strasburg season over. Tommy John surgery.

Tim Lincecums dad predicted it about a month ago on a weekly radio interview.
When asked what thoughts were on Strasburg he said he was impressed, but was sure
that he would hurt himself with that delivery. Tim's dad knows about pitchers.

Why not call it a career for lil' Stevie. Lord knows he made enough $$$. Seems to me he's already earned the majority of his record contract.

Quote:
Strasburg will receive a $7.5 million signing bonus with $2.5 million paid 15 days after approval of the contract, $2.5 million paid in January 2010 and another $2.5 million paid in January 2011.

He is scheduled to receive a $400,000 salary in 2009, but that is prorated to approximately $100,000. He then will get a $2 million salary in 2010, $2.5 million in 2011 and $3 million in 2012.

Aroldis Chapman - 103mph tonight against the Brewers! Cards lose again, Reds up 7 games. They'd have to really do a faceplant to not make the playoffs now.
