Where did you guys get the lower risers? Did they come with the set? Did you need shorter cables?

Cables should be longer when mounting a scrambler handlebar... They are generally longer than normal..

WOW! both mods look great! What was the cost and what other mods did you have to do, in order to make the bars work on the FZ1.

Hi, very nice handlebar. Could you please send link to some shop where is the handlebar? How is the width? Any problem with knock to fuel tank or front fairing? Thanks

Looks great.
Is that the YZ bend?

I swapped the standard bendy bars on my XT660 for Renthal fat bars. They still had some flex, but better than the std ones. The Renthal bars were however too tall so I used a set of YZ bend Pro Tapers. Bloody awesome - no flex at all now.

The flex is very disconcerting in corners when really leaning on (counter steering) the bars.

Pro Taper are std fitment on YZs sold over here. The dirt guys swap them out often so they come up cheap.

Those are protaper mounts that had to be slightly modified due to mounting bolt diameter issues. No other mods needed to cables or anything else. I did narrow up the bars as much as I could and still have everything fit correctly, but this was done to reduce leverage (I believe that there is such as thing as too much leverage).

Stranger, you got it right. Those are factory YZ450 bars which seem to have the perfect bend (for me) and the added bonus of saying "Yamaha" right on them. And as you stated some people have to change their bars so I picked these up at a reasonable price (unused).

another question about new bars... the current bars have the weighted bar ends...believe it or not; they are a functional part of the bike.

What do you lose or gain by not having the weighted ends?

How do you find the position compared to standard please?

Sunline make a set of clamps for 1 1/8" bars which comes with both 12mm and 10mm bolts.

After my experience with the XT and the changes in handling I am seriously thinking of changing the bars on the XT. I would be real interested in your comments in regard to handling please.
